When is mother's day? May 10, 2020! With Mother's day coming up it reminded me that I'm probably not alone in waiting until the last minute to get a present for my mom. Whether you are getting a Mother's day gift for a new mom, your wife, or you own mom, here are a few ideas that can help you in a pinch. So now instead of asking When is Mother's Day, let's ask ourselves, What to get Mom for Mother's Day. If you're thinking about work life integration, forgetting about Mother's Day may happen if you are focusing too hard on work and not focusing enough on life. Or, is there a way to use work life integration to get your Mom a gift? Maybe your work is photography, or music, or subscription boxes. Maybe you can create a present for Mother's Day? This is a great example of work life integration at it's finest! If not, here are some other ideas to help Mom enjoy Mother's Day.
Magnolia Table Volume 2: A Collection of Recipes for Gathering by Joanna Gaines
Volume 1 was a #1 New Your Times bestseller, so there is no doubt this one will top the list as well. Joanna Gaines released Magnolia Table Volume 2, which is filled with 145 new recipes from her own home that she shares with Chip & their 5 kids, from the couple’s restaurant, and their new coffee shop - Magnolia Press. From breakfast to dinner, plus breads, soups, and sides, this book is beautifully photographed and filled with dishes you’ll want to bring into your own home, including: Magnolia Press Chocolate Cake. Bonus: whoever you buy this book for might also cook for you!
Audible Gift Membership
Does your mom enjoy a good read, but you aren't sure what book to get her? Give her an audible gift membership. You can choose the length of the subscription, from 1 month to a full year and she will be able to listen to multiple books every month. You can also include some of your favorite recommendations like: Becoming by Michelle Obama or Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens.
Chocolate. Chocolate. Chocolate.
Because who doesn't like chocolate?? Honestly, this is kind of a lame gift, but paired with something else it is a super great addition. I repeat: Do not get her only chocolate. Get her something else AND chocolate. Maybe something digital like an audible gift membership or even a new Kindle E-reader - and some chocolate. But if you're looking for some great chocolates, check out Barnett's Gift Basket. You might want to get one for her and an extra basket for yourself. Just to be safe.
Instead of asking "What to get Mom for Mother's Day?" how about asking "What to Make Mom for Mother's Day?". These have been a big hit as my gifts over the years, whether it be for family members or a significant other. Take a meaningful picture and slap it on a puzzle. Just don't mess this up by picking an ugly picture. No pressure though. Maybe it's a family picture, a shot from a fun vacation, or a picture of the kids. I actually created one for my own mother's day gift this year with a picture of our new dog. It turned out purrrfect!

There are plenty of places to get socks, or subscription box socks for mom, but Sock Panda is my go to spot. Even better – the Sock Panda is the gift that keeps on giving – with every purchase, Sock Panda Donates Socks to those in need. As of May 2020 they've donated nearly 150,000 pairs of socks! They have socks for the whole family if you think this would be a good gift for anyone else. You can use our code LOVEMOM25 for 25% off your new subscription.
Subscription boxes are a fun idea because it's something she probably wouldn't get for herself. There are many different subscription boxes to choose from. Here are just a few:
How to be a Redhead - Redhead Friendly Approved Beauty Products Subscription Box (my mom is a redhead)
These are just some ideas for what to get Mom for Mother's Day and hopefully you find something that she will enjoy. My mom is my biggest role model and I'm sure she loves presents, but taking a day out of our busy lives to spend time together is the best gift. Just don't forget to bring chocolate. This is what work life integration is all about. LIFE!
